HTC has presented its latest flagship smartphone model, a stunning gadget featuring 440ppi HD “Super LCD 3″ display panel, an 8-megapixel rear camera with 1080p HD capabilities, 16GB of storage space, and 2GB of RAM. It’s just too bad this baby is aimed at the Japanese market only and there are no current plans to roll it out worldwide.

HTC J Butterfly is set for a release this December on AU / KDDI, the leading Japanes network provider. The price is still unknown, but judging by the amazing specs alone, it is likely to be aimed at the higher-end consumer market. Since this is a flagship smartphone from a major brand, aimed at the higher-end, traditionally selective Japanese market, it simply comes naturally that it has to be the best of the best.  The smartphone operates through powerful Qualcomm’s 1.5GHz quad-core Snapdragon APQ8064 CPU chip and comes with Android 4.1 Jelly Bean and Beats Audio installed. Within its lightweight, slim (140g, 9.1mm) waterproof  housing, there are NFC, LTE, and CDMA/GSM/UMTS/GPRS radios, a microSDHC expansion, Bluetooth 4.0, and 802.11a/b/g/n WiFi. All these features take a lot of power, so the HTC J Butterfly comes with an above average  2,020mAh battery.

While HTC J Butterfly will almost certainly remain within the borders of Japan, its key feature, the 440ppi HD “Super LCD 3″ display panel will surely find its way worldwide as part of the forthcoming HTC smartphones. Given the fact that ‘The Super LCD 2′ display panel seen in HTC’s previous flagship One X was arguably the best panel on the market, we may be sure that colors and details of its successor are simply awesome. HTC J Butterfly will be available in red, black and white colors.
