I know what you’re thinking and no, this is not the dinner special at your local Indian restaurant. Kombucha is the name of a super food that you need to get acquainted with and that’s what I’m here to help you do. Loaded with an obscene (seriously, the numbers will make your head spin) amount of probiotics, polyphenols, antioxidants and vitamins, Kombucha can radically change your health for the better.

Like most of the super foods that I discuss, Kombucha has been used for a long time. The fermented tea originated with ancient Chinese civilizations then made its way to Russia and, eventually, the rest of the globe. It was considered to be a drink of immortality to the ancients. I can’t promise you that you’ll be hitting your mid-life crisis at the ripe old age of 173 but I can assure you of Kombucha’s amazing nutritional benefits.

The number of probiotics within the drink will make you tilt your head in awe. Probiotics are extremely important as they regulate your digestion, help with detoxification, and strength your immune system. Polyphenols, antioxidants, and vitamins are also present in large numbers within each serving of Kombucha. Together, these essential elements will help you alkalize and bring your body into balance. Being alkaline is the way to be as it makes sure you avoid a list of common medical symptoms typically associated with a poor diet such as inflammation, ulcers, and pain.

Everyday use, aside from being a nutritional wonder, includes the following:

If you do your research, you’ll eventually run into some bad publicity about Kombucha. Nearly every one of these horror stories comes from someone who attempted to make his own without directions or common knowledge of how germs spread. Making your own Kombucha is easy and a great way to save money but it does involve you being extra cautious to prevent contamination.
