James Bond is the best secret agent in the world thanks to the cutting edge gadgets that could humble even Batman himself – among other things, of course.  Back in the days of Sean Connery, no one could even dream of owning any of the Bond gadgets, but technology has developed to such extent that even James Bond uses the gadgets from our own world, cutting the distance between our own homes and the magic of the silver screen considerably.

In the latest James Bond picture ‘Skyfall‘, the Agent 007 can be seen using Sony Xperia T. Is this smartphone really THAT good?

Sony Xperia T – The Bond Phone

Sony Xperia T is a large, elegant Android smartphone with a 4.6 inch HD screen, NFC support, a whopping 13-megapixel camera and it is Sony’s first smartphone built on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon S4 CPU.

Sony Xperia T is a manly, ergonomically designed stylish phone. The scratch-resistant display glass and the mate back finish may not really be hard enough to survive every James Bond mission, but they are surely sturdy enough to stand the everyday use.

The 1850mAh battery of Sony Xperia T is non-removable, but there is an access flap on the top left for micro-SIM and micro-SD cards. The flap is almost invisible when closed.

Other physical buttons on the phone include power, volume and camera on the right-hand side. There is a micro-USB port for charging and HDMI-out, and a 3.5mm headphone slot on the top.

Dubbed the “HD Reality Display”, the Xperia T’s screen drops capacitive buttons and instead incorporates the Back, Home and Multi-tasking icons actually on the screen, meaning they disappear when the phone is on sleep mode.

The 4.6” HD Reality Display of Sony Xperia T has a pixel density of 323ppi and it  is powered by the Mobile Bravia Engine, meaning that picture is clear, bright and sharp.

Processor and storage

The Xperia T’s dual-core Snapdragon S4 CPU provides fast web browsing, the games run smoothly and apps are downloaded in a flash. The phone comes with 16 GB of storage space that can be expanded using memory cards.

The Xperia T’s camera has 13 pixels and can record 1080p video and the system handles rapid movement and shakiness well. Sony’s Exmor R Sensor captures really vivid and detailed images in high light conditions, providing an overall really high quality for a phone camera.

Well, James Bond has always known what’s really good, and he doesn’t fail this time, either. The only drawback may be the Xperia’s weight – at 139g, this is a bulky gadget, but hey! This is a man’s phone, it shouldn’t be too tiny. On the whole, this is a truly great Androind smartphone with stunning features, following the best tradition of Sony, the company that never compromised on quality and elegance.
